Boris Mendel, Founder & Owner

Boris Mendel is an American businessman and philanthropist best known as Founder and Executive of Prime Healthcare Companies. Mendel is also an owner and investor in Health Care facilities and real estate. He has over 2,500 employees across all his business ventures and continues to find new ways to develop and grow in both his professional and personal spheres.

Born in Carpatia, in the former Soviet union, Mendel attended Uzhgorod State University and Polytechnic National University obtaining degrees in both Economics and Engineering. After immigrating to the US and settling in New York City, he began working in the assistant living industry in the 1970s. He bought his first assisted living facility in 1981 and founded Central Assisted Living which has become an award-winning leader in the affordable assisted living movement. Central is currently developing the first freestanding memory care facility dedicated to the Medicaid population.

He is also the majority shareholder of the Prime Home Health Group of companies. Prime operates various home care companies, a social day program and a managed long-term care insurance plan. Prime provides home care services to over 40,000 patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Mr. Mendel is a benefactor of numerous charitable and civic organizations.
